Last 15 trades in April - May, 3 wins, 12 LOSSES
In Feb-March 2009, 15 trades, 13 wins, 2 losses.
System owner says " the parameters are never changed and this is an essential condition to guarantee constant and robust results."
One month you have 13 wins out of 15 trades and another you have 12 losses. This is a roller coaster system and if you would like to have fun and excitement, real rolller coasters are much cheaper.
Be careful if you are using this system. There is no stop loss and at one point it sinked to negative $100K, 200K and 300K. You will burn your money with this system.
No particular trading methodology visible, as reflected in the results. communication with the trader was ineffective. Absolutely NOT worth a cent of subscription $!! Just dont bother, unless you have money to throw away!
Deluded know-nothing who sends out pep-talk emails to compensate for his inability to trade profitably. Makes claims such as "there will almost always be a day during a month that covers the fee" - and does not live up to them. Avoid this guy, and his motivational emails.
Two weeks back I subscribed to this system. And I am really positively subscribed. It was so far very successful (made up the monthly fee on the very first day) and provided excellent return. While others would brag about their results Kevin simply warns not to overtrade, because drawdowns will come. This I regard as highly responsible. Moreover, he is very open and communicative. So, I fully believe, this is system that will last.. - with very good results.
In his forum and in private messages, Kevin answered all of my questions with detail and openness. The transparency, and, yes, profitable historical results, convinced me to try his Gen2 system. The returns have thus far (after only 2 weeks) exceeded my expectations. The risk per trade (on one contract) has been low, and the slippage via auto-trading has been zero. Most importantly, Kevin advises proper money management, which is the cornerstone of long-term success.
System show good Results. Kevin Davey informs every weekend about the Results and warns Trader about overtrading. I like his weekly statements and his warnings.
I've only been trading this system for 3 weeks, so it's too early to give it 5 stars. However, I've had 5 fairly large winners and no losers in that time and my actual fills have been as good or better than C2's fills.
Gerry is a good manager. He is conscientious and thoughtful. He is working really hard to get this system right....and he is burning the midnight oil here. I feel I am in good hands. I have been investing with him in various systems for over a year now. He appears to be doing well right now and I am raising my stakes. I am presently autotrading this through BrokersXpress (sister company to OptionsXpress). Best of luck.
I'm in the similar situation of the previous reviewer. maybe I started at a very bad timing, the system kept STEADILY losing money for me everyday. I'm out for now. from the history record, it seems winners and losers are positively correlated. So I'll just wait till I see a winning stream and maybe I will start autotrade with this system again.
This system trades on shoart term overbought and oversold indicators. It works on choppy and volatile market. It fails when market is in strong trending conditions and will cause a big loss in such a trending market.
Started with $50K demo account autotrading on 28/3/09 and as at 02/04/09, my account has a total $4K (i.e. net -$46k) in less than a week. It's still with an open losing trade of $20K. I don't understand how the system / system designer can self-desruct his work like this.
I had specifically asked the vendor to maintain discipline just a couple of weeks ago. Last night he doubled the usual position size, traded more than once on the same night, and cut losses much later than usual. We can see the results. Why is it that vendors like to go crazy all of a sudden when their systems are doing well?
There's a great method behind this system, but the vendor just killed 2 months of profits in a single trade. What good does a winning percentage of 70+% do if you let 1 trade do so much damage? The previous 2 reviewers were right, controlling drawdowns is the key and today the system failed the test.
the system looks promising. Just a few words of caution;
Doesn't really trade only on open or close as suggested on the website - signals often come an hour away from the close. Consider autotrading unless you want to be pc bound.
Lack of stops - make risk management very difficult. Remember your largest drawdown is yet to come - and just how much will this cost?
VP Trader does exactly what it says in the system description. It is one of few C2 systems that adhere to the trading axiom of ¡§Let your profits run and cut your loses short.¡¨ No margin, no overnight risk, no martingale, no overoptimization, no curve fitting, no short (for IRA accounts), low sub fee. Very good characterics of pro trading system: low win% and high win/loss ratio. Exceptional customer service. Hope to see more systems of this type in C2 here.
I recently unsubscribed after trading the system a couple of years. I still managed to make about 50% over that time, but it was close to 100% at the peak. When I first subscribed the vendor used to exit losing positions after 2 days. Now he hangs on to losers for months at a time -- a recipe for disaster...especially in this market. The other reason for the poor performance is simply the market meltdown since October. There were just too many falling knives and not enough stocks that bounced. If this market ever returns to normal I expect this system will do well again, but my money is in long/short systems for now.
Can someone please elaborate on what happened to this system after 9/24/08? It just became an hungry beast, eating away at our capital and destroying years of progressive accumulation. Now, 6 months (and $600 in fees) later, 56% of capital is gone, and there is no sign of recovery in sight. If you're still in, one word: RUN!
I have been following this system for many months before it was moved to C2. It provided excellent returns, going long or short depending on market direction. I have never seen a better directional stock trading system.
The 3 Gulf Stream systems are truly one of the brightest spot on C2, the oldest one now being 1 year old. Even though this one is presently performing the best it will be only a matter of time, according to the vendors, before the other 2 catch up or take over - they all work on similar principles. The vendors, who promptly answer the private messages, say the systems are 99% mechanical but they monitor it (I guess this is where the 1% comes in) and they check every week the availability of shortable stocks. I trade it at IB via TB and very, very seldom is a stock temporarily unavailable for shorting. The vendors say the systems perform best in crazy markets like now.
