One must wonder, how many losses do you have to take before catching the right one? And when you do catch the right one this strategy lets the market to reverse a significant amount before exiting sometimes turn profit into a loss. Hard for an investor to swallow.
I ended this subscription after the system showed some heavy losses. But, to my good fortune, I returned about a month and a half ago after it looked like the developer was back to steady profitable trades. Rebuttal by the developer to some past reviews indicate that the subscriber needs to be alert to placing stops on these trades. If this is something you care to do, and can be successful, then this system should be like a piece of cake.
Gee, I was thinking of saying how annoying it was that messages to this guy were not read, that he removed his rules from the description once he suffered losses, and if this guy was a professional trader, one wonders how he manages to feed and clothe himself.
The hole he is digging speaks louder than what I could come up with, though.
C2 should have a rule that if messages aren’t read, say in a week, subscription refunds are automatic!
No, really!
This was a great system until 2013 when it started to go against the market. That happens and the developer is not to be held at fault for following what has been, until now, a very successful strategy. What I can't figure out is why this system is STILL rated 1000 by C2. It simply doesn't make any sense after several months of large losses. It seems as though C2 is saying that this is the best system out there. I imagine a number of people may disagree heartily!!!
After 5 weeks of very nice trading, almost all the time with single contracts, taking small gains and small losses, vendor all of a sudden adds to losing positions without any stops and incurs a huge loss. Can a subscriber not expect that the vendor is consistent and follows his previous successful trading style? Very disappointing.
I've been a subscriber for over 4 months and I've been withholding my judgement during this bull run, since the system has mostly made money riding the trend up during that time. On 5/22/13 the vendor closed out a profitable long position and made a well-timed short trade that produced about a 5% profit in less than 24 hours. I don't think it was luck -- this person really seems to know the market and how to interpret charts. Good position management -- does not take large losses and locks in profits by tightening the stop. Very good communication with the subscribers as well.
Well joined for just a few days and got burned badly (close to 6k loss today). It lost most of the trades by a wide margin and it seems to continue. The equity curve showed a steep drop. When the system is doing well and you decided to try it out, then it played trick on you. Well, just not my luck and I'm bailing out! The sub fee is steep also. Good luck to the folks who still hang in there.
Like they said the proof is in the pudding. You can look at the stat and compare per trade gain vs per trade loss and decide if it is a viable long term system. The stat and equity curve tell it all
Pangolin Z is designed for traders that prefer a mechanical system. Kevin develops rules based entries and exits based on extensive back-testing that must have high win/loss rates and Sharpe ratios.
Kevin is a serious student of system development, is responsive to subscribers, and honest to a fault. In my first subscription month of Pangolin Z the performance has been so good I would expect it to level off somewhat. Highly recommended.
like others who commented on that system. The profit taking level to the loss taking level is absurd. Traded it for live, encountered a loss, will stop it now. Communication of the system developer is NOT great. Can not recommend this system.
This is a young, promising system from an experienced, careful trader with other successful, long-term systems here on C2. This newer system is volatile, but I expect it will do quite well over time. Worth watching.
This system has too few trades. And if you look closely at the stats avg win and avg loss is about the same but extremely high win rate. If win rate decrease towards 50% drawdown and performance will suffer significantly.
After 9 month of solid performance with reasonable low drawdown this systems deserves some recognition. Developer communicates well with subscribers and is not shy to report minor mistakes. It seems there is a real professional behind it and he says he has been a former hedge fund manager. The best thing is that he trades the system himself and has been doing so for the last two years.
AS OF APRIL 23, 2013: Unfortunately caught on the wrong side of the Gold & Crude oil recent market shifts eradicating the equity curve ... I can understand the position taken, however due to lack of risk management receiving a poor rating. However I am still interested in seeing how Newport recovers over time and adjusts his/her strategy moving forward.
its a decent system, however the risk makes absolutely no sense. really needs to work on that. the give back ratio is MASSIVE, thats not an understatement. I did make money on the system and felt comfortable running it just don't like the risk vs reward since its way off wack.
Totally agree with the last reviewer. Lost of 12% in a strong bull market is unacceptable. Wonder what would happen if we're in a market crash or bear market.
Sad first of all the lower himself to naming calling and insulting his subscribers and to view himself as better then them. Even upon telling him that his system is flawed he continues to trade it instead of fixing what is broken. He is emotional and his let that control his trades. The trades speak for themselves win one lose one etc etc. This is not a winning system more a coin toss.
42% drawdown and still counting!, it is not acceptable!. I have violated my own rules of at least 1 full year of track record to avoid charlatans. But these guys looked so professional!.
Slippage is a mess...
I have been auto-trading (Gen3) this system at MB Trading for over a month: I managed to follow all the losing trades but didn't grab a lot of profit during the few winning trades.
Risk precisely defined in system summary. Risk strictly followed in trade record. These two features put this system in the 95th percentile of all trading systems on C2. The fact that the system is also profitable puts it in the 99th percentile. Well done.
system attempts to exploit the opening volitility to scalp a fraction of a percent gain. If the trade fails to reach quick profit target the backup strategy is to hold and hope for pullback to break even.
