A little tough to follow manually, and the performance has been flat since I started, but I consider that pretty good. Most large managers with hundreds of millions in FX under management are in serious drawdowns at the moment. That shows this is a pretty tough market period, and this vendor has done ok.
Terrible performance! The system had a high return low risk when I joined, but since then has blown up. The system survived the initial financial market turmoil OK, but more recently has just continued to crash, with the drawdown being much higher than its previous maximum. The system trades very heavily (often for very small number of pips gain) and thus also costs a huge amount in autotrade fees (not included in the performance figures!!!!!), so the actual returns are much lower (and drawdown much bigger) than claimed. My calculations show this would detract about 100% per annum from performance.
It is very dissapointing that this system has gone like so many others on C2 - look good for quite a while, and then blow away all of the gains in no time.
Started well but turned into a consistent looser at the end of august. too many trades a day, e.g. today 4/10/2007: 7 entries, 4 closed loosers, 2 unclosed loosers, 1 unclosed gainer. something is going wrong here. less is sometimes more ...
started autotrading "no fuss" a month ago and I am very satisfied with the results. Each trade has clear stop loss and profit target. They only thing I do not understand is why the stop of winning trades is never updated. If they turn to loosers before reaching the target, the initial stop is still in place and results in biggers loss than necessary.
I've been using The Trading Digest Portfolio for 7 months now. Wow! The 40%+ return has definitely helped boost the portfolio. It is easy to use. Orders can be placed the night before so perfect for West Coasters.
The key to the system is to follow the system. No matter what. No one wants to be in a losing trade, but the winners here easliy surpass the losers. Only if you follow the signals.
EASY.
I highly recommend this system and to stick with it.. don't give up after the free trial ...this is a long term strategy using swing trades building wealth one day at a time. You soon will be "not hurting".
Very effective and simple to follow system. Consistently profitable and thanks to stop loss orders a much improved experience compared to earlier trades.
The system is called slow and steady, but its gains have been anything but slow. If you want to profit in eMini S&P futures, THIS IS YOUR SYSTEM. I’ve traded it since 8/3/07 and AutoTraded via IB/TradeBullet (scales well). You can see that during even the most trying market (many other systems died), s&s performed very well. A better word for the "slow" aspect of s&s is "disciplined”. This is key: When subscribing, you get more than trade signals. You get the skills of the man behind it, who plans the trades well, doesn't flinch, and is disciplined and skilled enough to improve the basis when he can (see description). You get exactly what is advertised: consistent profits with little drawdown. In short, it's a great system with a top-notch trader behind it. Sign up for a trial and see!
I tried to follow the trades manually and found that frustrating and profitless. The scalps are frequently too close to negotiate with market trades (regardless of estimated fills) or with limit trades. The system overtrades for my style I lost confidence in the direction of the trades. Perhaps the system simply losses efficiency going through the C2 or email communication processes. I did not try to autotrade and would be doubtful of its success due to the tight speads.
I am not a trader (yet), but wanted to learn about it. I found Dave's Blog and followed along for a few months before becomming a subscriber to his system. Working full time hinders my ability to follow along during the day, so entering the orders the night before the next days trading session is a big plus for me. The system is very realistic, the fills match the C2 indicated fills. I have been very happy with the performance thus far (March 2007). It is certainly a system to trade for the long term (which suits my approach to the markets)!
Like many other, I joined when the system had a very high return, low drawdown. Unfortunately like many other systems on C2, this system has fallen apart. It started with the vendors "love affair" with the Yen (especially GBPJPY), where numerous losses were taken going long, when the pair were in a sustained down trend. More than 50% of the trades were Yen related. The vendor had changed the way he was trading, and then I think he lost his nerve, and has unintenionally changed the way he is trading. The system has had runs of 10 losers in a row, and now another 6 in a row (and two more open that are in loss). This has made the systems current return vs drawdown not acceptable. Even if I had not got in at the peak, I would now have severe doubts about this system.
I have been auto-trading Slow and Steady signals on a demo account at OpenECry since 1 month and I am seeing one of the most consistent traders I have ever known ( 10 years trading ). The psycholgy of the trader and his quiet nerves are much more reliable than the best software-based strategies - profit are steady and drawdowns are kept to a very sound level- the ability to recover drawdowns is amazing - I am planning to live trade this strategy (auto-traded tru OEC) very soon -
Enough is enough. Vendor is friendly and helpful but now the losses are too much. He changed the system back in July and it's been downward ever since. Now amost all subscribers since the Spring are losing money, and since the Summer are losing big money.
i couldn't make any money with this system,
while C2 reported profit i lost because of the slippage.
This system is the money making machine but only for the author.
So far I am very disappointed. I believe in stop losses and sound equity management. Last month when I started trading this system it had a reasonable stop loss noted in System Description that was under 100 pips along with sound equity management. I currently have a trade that's down 259 pips AND the System Description has been changed. Shouldn't subscribers be warned before a system is changed? I think it's very reasonable to be informed before you change what you do with our money. I'm not a fool. I never enter a trade without a stoploss.
MARGIN CALL, with autotrade disabled. I am out. I was leveraged at 10k which is what I started with. Now I am out of the game, I guess I just got in at the wrong time.
I've subscribed to The Trading Digest for some time now. The trades are very easy to follow and place since they all arrive before the market open. My fills are almost identical. Position sizing and risk management are very simple, but also very effective. Just an excellent system.
This system is completely untradeable without automation, and emails are nothing but cancellations of previous orders:if you followed every one your account would be decimated in no time.Mind you,I'm sure the brokers like it with all that commission:AVOID!!!
Unacceptable drawdown - can kill (zero) your trading acct if you're not careful. Rather than cutting losses and waiting for the market to turn, vendor chooses to hold onto certain losing positions (08/22/07 @WZ7) hoping they will come back. Vendor's reasoning - "the more draw-down, the more they will rebound to profit!" In reality, large draw-down demonstrates the vendor's inability to time the trade properly and, more importantly, the vendor's inability to manage money and risk.
Vendor does not believe in limiting risk - else he would not have lost $126,500 (nearly half his portfolio) in one trade. Do not believe anything this guy has to say - he lacks discipline and it is unlikely he'll develop any anytime soon.
This system is a failure (I'm licking my wounds) - no response from the developer to his PM's - sin up at your own risk.
Major setback to anyones account.
After some excellent results that lasted for over a year, the vendor has demonstrated an act of reckless money management on a grand scale. The vendor's failure to acknowledge this or reply to any correspondence indicates an unprofessional and irresponsible attitude.
I would strongly recommend against following any system offered by this vendor unless you are prepared to trade manually and set your own stops and drawdown limits.
System looks great, but will not autotrade properly. Limit orders often don't get filled so autosync takes over and fills at market order price significantly different than limit price. Also, sometimes get fills on orders that are being cancelled, putting trader at mercy of random chance of what market price autosync will close position at.
Trading system doesn't fit my trading style. I would need a larger outlay of $ in my portfolio. So far i can only see one trade that has made any money TBSI.
