Ride the trend is new, but it has been able to make a decent return so far, and has avoided the large draw downs which some of the other trend following systems have experienced lately.
Tera Qubes has been an nicely profitable system so far. Of the 3 other (winning) systems on collective 2 which go long/short broad indexes, Tera Qubes is in the top 2 for the time it has been around. I also appreciate the notes providing commentary on the markets.
It seems vendor got distracted in April as losses got bigger. Due to poor win ratio, average win should be much greater than average loss which was the case until April. I hope vendor gets back on track again. At the moment, it is just an average system.
A tiny jewel, which I think of as a dividend booster for an underlying equity position (or possibly as a way to get a respectable amount of interest on a hunk of cash) called the "covered position." Preferably the covered position will be a semi-permanent stake in 100 shares of SPY for each option contract traded. I believe the developer here has transcended much of the risk of collecting premiums through option writing, albeit by settling for tiny but steady rewards. Still, with a thorough understanding of what to expect and, more importantly, what not to expect, you too may find this system a little gem.
One trade wipes out the prior 16 months of profits ($489 when you consider typical fees of $1/minilot and the $150/month subscription fee). Most autotraders were trading more than 100% so the subscription fee would be less significant for them but even any of those who started trading this system recently are probably hurting.
As a recent subscriber to this strategy I am very happy about what I am getting for, so far. Very workable recommendations, even for a manual trader, good risk management, trades not not so frequently. Add to this an exceptional value for money: hopes it continues. Keep it up!
I'm surprised that for a short term trading system, the trader wasn't paying attention to what was going on in the currency markets. Nor did the developer put a stop loss until more than 3.5% was lost in the matter of hours. I wish the trader would have cut his loses as soon as he noticed that he was on the wrong side. He should either put more aggessive stop losses or get out of the trade early by being on top of things. One trade shouldn't wipe out gains from last 10+ in a matter of a hours. On the positive note, his overall performance still looks good but I hope he revises his strategy based on this experience so he can continue delivering superior trading system.
Forex Special’s record speaks for itself. As of 5/6/11, there were 6 losses (the 3/28/11 loss was due to a C2 error) out of 134 trades for a ~94% success rate. Of those 6 losses, the AVG draw down (dd) was 1.22% as a % of system equity. Historically, 8 trades had dd of 6% or more and the largest dd was 12%. ALL were eventually winners. The system developer has advised me that his current risk level is about 6%. The current (5/3/11) trade dd is ~4%, which is perfectly acceptable. In using terms such as “time bomb†and “blown out,†the recent negative reviewer demonstrates his failure to manage risk, with no one to blame but himself. The developer communicates promptly and clearly to subscribers, and has been most helpful and patient in his communications to me personally.
This system is a time bomb that just went off. Achieves many small gains by not adhearing to a reasonable stop loss. This works for awhile until the major trend changes then subcribers get thier accounts blown out. Sends a notice to subscribers ..I don't want to take a loss on this trade ..do what you feel is best .
System developer has an impressive background in trading, 3+ years of a model of this system trading his own account, all on record at other platforms. A newer system here at C2, and the equity curve looked a bit choppy by the all whipsaws in the commodity markets lately, however, I still felt comfortable starting this system now. This developer has the goods to deliver, if given time, and I am happy to see him and his efforts at C2. Also, the trade sizes are fixed and do not change per the equity, which is the way systems should be traded. No criticisms to note as of yet, and the developer has been very responsive to my questions.
I am sorry to say,
but this morning (ET 5/2/11 3:02) a huge loss was incurred due to a wrong signal resulting in a loss of -130%. I know because I subscribed to this system. Clearly a mistake. I don't know whether this is due to Collective 2 or the system developer, but it would have been wiping out your account in a matter of minutes. I have traces, for the interested...
Any case, a few hours later , statistics are corrected and do not reflect any longer the real situation... Do not trust the statistics on this system, they are not reliable any longer..
Vendor has not respondet to my PM from 12 days ago. This precludes the system from any further consideration. In addition, a stop loss of 1,450 pips away from the present price does not seem to offer much protection.
Obviously this system is in its infancy with only 14 total trades to date, but the results to date are stunning. I subscribed on the 12th and today was the first trade. My account is scaled to 1/4 model account sizing . . . so I ONLY made about $4,390 today . . . less commission owed and earned by developer! Developer also has excellent back testing site which is very helpful and keeps expectations somewhat tempered. The developer has been very quick to reply to queries . . . yes, even to the stupid questions. I feel very fortunate to have jumped on one of the available seats for this system. Needless to say, I am looking at other systems by the developer as well. Will be at 5 stars in very near future based on track record to date.
This system seems to work well for auto traders but not so for manual traders. Many minor pairings traded with big spreads results in missed winners but guaranteed to catch every loser.
Developer is very responsive, experienced, and actively monitoring. System is still new and price is a bit high for small accounts but worth the price of R&D of a system that works as well as this one.
There has been a lot of good press lately about Forex Special and rightly so. The stats are impressive. When you take the time to sit down and look at them closely, and scale the system to your account, a nice steady profit is clearly possible. However, I would urge everyone to understand that the system has had multiple occasions of $600+ drawdown - and that is with the standard 2 minilots. This would be $600 * your minilot scaling. Although a $600+ drawdown has not happend in quite some time I scale my account to that figure just in case. I love the system.
I have been following OS2 for several months and it works. Although there are losing trades, the system has been profitable every month.
The pros:- no drawdown yet, though the developer claims when it does happen, it will be very small. Easy to follow system. Instructions could not be clearer
The cons - a lot of trades which means checking your e-mail before the market opens and again before it closes because, depending on the futures/how the market is going, planned trades are often cancelled. Also because of the subscription expenses, trade commissions and auto trade costs, you need a large initial investment to make a decent profit.
What an excellent system! Forex Special has given me consistent profits so far and the communication from the developer has been superb. I HIGHLY recommend it. You can scale the account to your needs to realize bigger gains and I will be increasing my number of mini lots again very shortly to take advantage of the amazing track record I have been observing over the last two months. The developer averages around 8 trades a month under normal circumstances but of course, that number can vary. Depending on market conditions, the trade durations range from 24 hour holdings or longer to lightning fast trades of only a few minutes. Forex Special gets 5 Stars from me for sure!
I recently subscribed to this system, and so far, I am very impressed. Consistent gains, with very few drawdowns, and small ones when they do occur. Vendor has good understanding of the inherent risks of leveraged ETF's, and utilizes this knowledge for the benefit of subscribers. IMO....one of the best values here at C2.
Topaz is the best stock strategy I've found on C2 and the only one I consider safe enough for my retirement account. It is flexible and profitable, both short term and long. Autotrading it is easy and there has been a steady upward equity climb since I joined (although it had to weather the tsunami as did a lot of other systems.) Sometimes the mandatory 10 day selloff can be a frustrating if a position is in the red, but the overall equity curve still steadily rises. The beauty of this once a day system is that if you want to manually manipulate any of the positions, it is easy to do so, even with autotrading enabled. Developer's website and comprehensive FAQs are excellent.
Developer is very responsive and informative in the forum and you can tell he cares about his subscribers slippage, etc. I was shocked and grateful there was open subscriptions when I discovered it. Get a slot while you still can.
Developer is very responsive and informative. Although the system is new, detailed backtesting available made me feel more confident trying it out. Very happy with Oil Trading.
The developer is very good about keeping subscribers up to date and providing back-testing data. This is a very volatile system, so high drawdowns should be expected and IMO one should not commit their full account to this. That being said, there is a very high reward possible for those who can hold on through the wild ride. Easy to follow, trade, and get results like those posted on the trade record.
